Couple times now I have tried to use the search feature to look for topics relating to whatever i'm curious about at the moment (so I'm not bombarding you with my endless list of questions) First time was right after the new changes, and I thought it was a glitch. Tried again earlier today. It returns results from the search, but if I try to click on them to read it goes to an error page saying the page cannot be found, etc.

I just tried it Jen, seems to work for me, I did notice you need to tell it to search the this topic or search the forum, this was the quick search button. Maybe do a screen print so they can see what it is doing to you.

Thanks for the heads up :). If you could copy and paste the link that doesn't work for you in this thread and I'll see what I can do for you.

I'm going to do a quick forum upgrade now which may get rid of some of these bugs, so that may fix it in any case :).

The upgrade is now complete as of about 30 seconds ago - there are no new features, but lots of bugfixes :D

Same thing happening for me. I'm using the quick search at top right corner of site. For example, typed in "string algae" in forums, search returned several results. when I click on a result it takes me to a new page that reads (and I get this for every link):

Server Error

404 - File or directory not found.

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Weird works just fine for me, searches in the thread, and searches in the forum, get results both times and readable.

I've just tried to search for the same thing and I get the same error, so I'll submit the bug report and work on it :)

Hi Jen, I've been working on this and think I've fixed it - it was a problem on the server end and not the software. Could you please let me know if that works for you?

Ian, do you have to put in specifically what your searching for? I put Butterfly Koi in and Identify sores, nothing came up at all, I put in Rocks in the bottom of pond, and get 34 topics, How much needs to be put in to pull up a topic to search, It looks like it needs four words to hit off of, that too many IMO, One or two words to get the topics should be plenty then the person searching can start isolating down what they are searching for if there is multiple hits.

It's a 4 letter minimum to search the forums, which is unfortunately a limitation with the way the database works (and not something I can avoid :(). What I could do is add a google search box instead, as that is a little more intelligent and you can then search for anything?

I tried 'lotus bog", and was told that one of the words didn't meet the four-letter requirement. Added an 's' and it worked! John
