Home raised fish (farm raised) is not good for you to eat. This guy may be very intelligent on building ponds but he certainly isnt when it comes to nutrition. You are better off making that taco he talks about with bacon than the farm raised tilapia

They have farm raised fish here but they only sell the food service .I have visited 2 of them and they have these farms all over the U.S. and show set ups on you tube .They control the food and insure the health of the fish .I think it is the future of fish on the plate .Home raised I am not sure about but know here several farm ponds that raise there own fish to eat .

I have never eaten either one so would not know .I am a vegetarian and have been all my life and grew up on an organic farm when organic was not a key word .No animals except for chickens that ate the bugs .My mom would not even kill them but she did use the eggs ,we had no rooster as laws there would not allow it .The farm was grandfathered in and all the neighbors and other people came just for fresh .Just over 5 acres and I learned the meaning of hard work

no marigolds they flower all summer and I do nothing they come back every year from seeds that drop .I don't water them and I don't fertilize them I gave a basket of seed heads away again today and I already have another basket of them .I put a bunch of seeds on the hill also for next year .As long as you dead head them they just keep flowering and flowering .i planted some 9 years ago and have this now .I even pulled a whole wheelbarrow of them out so I could put down the mulch .Second pic is a couple of months ago.Marigolds help with mosquito control also

I've heard that Marigolds are natural bug repellents, my mother planted a spot of them this spring which the bugs promptly devoured.
LOVE the banana plant's! Looks so exotic around the pond.

Thank you I call it my tropical country pond .I wanted a totally in ground pond but the yard was very unlevel and my septic tank is right where the wishing well is and my under ground pipes that go to a storage tank underground from my gutters runs along there also and I did not want to mess with that again .When I dug for the pipes I still had the builders small digger here and I used that and then after over a year he finally picked it up .I was sad to see it go as I used it a lot and it really came in handy during that time

Well electric was off for way over 3 hours and took the other waterfall filter apart not fun .muddy dirty and electric .OH well .I finally came back on at noon and I was constantly watching water level in my pond .I lost 9 inch's between last night and this morning when i notice the electric was off .Thing is after the electric was off I lost no water .I kept looking at the measuring tape in the pond and nothing .I will go back out in a half hour to check it again .I looked under the upper liner when i pulled it up and it is bone dry and all I saw was roots from the banana plants .I had to put it back together just for now because it started to rain again .The pump is still off and the one pump and aerator i plugged back in .I just am at a lose about this .I have gotten to the point where i can't think .
