The easiest to install was the thicker like 7mm, the skinny stuff 4ish mm was a pita, it also tended to seperate easily. After a few rows you feel like a expert. It cuts easy just a sharp box knife and a straight edge.

the one with the rubber back is 5.5 and the one with the cork backing is 7 and both have 20 mil wear layer ..I want to put the cali backing under it as our floors always feel cold .The joists under are all insulated but feel cold in the winter ..both are 48 inch's long by 7 1/8 inch wide .They sure are heavy and did a test with my desk chair .I ran over the pieces sevearl times and no effect on them

I did reinsulate the sill plate in the house The basement right now is 78 degrees so the cold must be coming in from the exterior concrete walls above ground level .Below ground level the walls are insulated in the basement and so is the slab .I have a digital thermometer near the ceilg of the basement and near the floor and near the ceiling temps drop down to 70 degrees .The basement is 12 feet tall with a metal frame that came with the modular house that i had left on to add more stability to the sub floor .Floor joists are 2x12 .I wonder if the metal is transferring cold because the metal is cold to my hands

Take the two different samples see how well they click together. I was installing on a 100 year old floor that was not perfect in level. That is where I found the separation issues. The thicker stuff did click together a lot easier, and stayed together. Click together and wiggle the two pieces see how well they stay together.

Our basement stays in the 50's in the winter. Solid concrete walls without a lot of insulation. But in the summer it is nice and cool!
We are using it as a bee stuff storage area right now so temperature is not important. Also my dear hubby moved the washer and dryer out of the basement to the first floor in a not used bedroom which is now the laundry room. Love it! We had to replace my 20 year old units so moved them upstairs when we got the new ones.
I am going to buy some click vinyl flooring to put on the floor. Pull the carpet. On my list lol

I bought a sheet of the cali underlayment and put it on my storm door to see how it keeps heat out and it is great .Not sure i like the cali vinyl but sure will use the underlayment .I am amazed out how cold the glass on the storm door was and how it did not come through the cali underlayment .I used the heat gun to test temperature differences and the glass was a cool 25 degrees but the underlayment was a warm 58 degrees after an hour and that was on the north side of the house where no sun hits .I could not believe it could be that good .I may buy some for the shed floor to put under the rubber flooring i got for it .
