A ton of mine were collected as houses were being built around me lol I lucked out a lot. I've only bought small river stones & collected everything else
Well, I’ve been rock collecting for many many years. My wife as well. Thousands, I am constantly scanning. Always picking. I am lucky that I live where some of the oldest rocks on earth are. Take this little beauty I picked up last fall. Superior basin Vermillion complex. 1 to 1.25 billion years old. It is a mixture of Jasper, Iron, Quartzite and Limonite. Estimated weight 1800lbs.
Well Gemma, you want sparkles, We got em. Come on up to the end of the road and I’ll show you some spots.

I have several of them and found 4 of them while in nj for my brothers funeral and put his name on each one and kept 1 and gave the other 2 to my sisters.Strange because I found one not far from my sisters grave where we laid Joey to rest .I stepped out of the car and there it was on the road .I think it was put there for love .It was a sign

I feel for all of you. I don't mean to brag...but... Here in the Pocono Mountains of PA, we have too many rocks and stones! All of the rocks we needed for our pond build were collected on our 1/2 acre property. Sometimes they are annoying such as they suddenly appear protruding out of our lawn after the winter. They seem to grow out of the lawn! We call them Pocono potatoes. And whenever we need to dig a hole, there seems to be more rocks than soil.

I hit rocks if digging a foot or two down and used a lot of them for the pond. What i have surface is chunks of asphalt was in the fill the dumped 60 years ago. When we dug the pond we hit so much asphalt my son joked that the yard used to be a road they covered with dirt.
