Few images of the juveniles in prescreen tank B. This area is just for evaluation so all new guys that are small go here for 60 days or sometimes less to determine if they will need quarantine or need to go to the intensive care/ high maintenance tank since it would be expensive treating all the water and food with the supplements that sick or elder turtles require which would serve little benefit to a healthy youngster or healthy adult even. FYI the small boxes with white light are UV only filters and the tubes are actually now a modified filter and only serve as a circulator since all the tanks are now on a global/shared filtration & water replacement setup with periodic filtration at a rate of approx full turn over of the water about once every 26 hours and filtration of approx 40% of the water designed to target the lower slope and around mid-column where most of the toxins will be but most of the particulate will settle below that and that is cleaned out as needed using a bottom suction similar to a gravel-vac only much larger and with a higher vacuum but lower discharge amount since we are using a massive amount of water compared to regular setups so we need to save any way possible.

Seeing how a baby turtle should be kept, makes me think back to being a kid having one in plastic container with fake palm tree. Sad
Sadly those little plastic box and tree setups are still being used although I always make sure to tear the vendor a new one if I find it. One incident in particular was back in 2015 we were at a flea market in Alabama and a guy was selling them like that and it was so bad that instead of trying to speak sense into him we ended up buying the whole lot of 19 turtles and brought them back to Georgia. I have 3 of them as my own pets while all the others were adopted out to good homes from people I personally know and/or have been to one of our open house education sessions where we show how to care for them as well as the stages of breeding from clutch all the way to as old as just under 20 years old

Buying whole lot to save them, people like you are very rare.
Admittedly there are not a lot of people out there who love turtles as much as I and a few others do but those of us that do are very loyal to them so whenever possible I try and make their lives as good as I can with the help of a small but dedicated group of friends and helpers.

I have a breeding population of turtle on the endangered list Blanding turtle. They are found around the great lakes with a very small population in Dutchess county NY . They are very shy in 15 years I have only seen one 3x.
