You are a real undertaker of a neat idea Lou. Lots have made their ponds where the liner shows just below the top rock edge. A simple ledge/step around just below would have remedied this but for those who don't want to go to extremes to change what they have already done or just don't want that rock ledge this would be a cool idea. Wonder if one could take some kind of plastic deer fencing and somehow attach various different things such as driftwood, faux rocks, plants that attach themselves in between etc. and hold the fencing down w/ the rocks around the edge kind of like one long continuous strip of a sissy sock thing w/o the sock part.....................oh my mind is wandering off into the too complicated zones perhaps?

My mind is swirling with ideas. Thank you your thoughts. :)

Could you do something similar to this but instead of making it rock shaped, lay the chicken wire out flatter but allow for uneven areas like a rock wall?

This looks like it has some possibility for me. I wish I wasn't so lazy now. Plus I've gone a pond blind. I only notice the lining when I have new people round and I think "ugh, wish I had covered that better".

I'm definitely curious about how it would turn out as well. I would think with the grout and the insulation it would be really lightweight. I'm sure you add some local sand or dirt to make it more natural looking for your area.
