Water Fountain

For those with outdoor water fountains: Do you occasionally clean the bowl with bleach or something similar to keep the "crud" down?....and is it safe to do so, assuming you rinse well? I have some birds that will drink from there on occasion.

best thing to do is add some salt if you have no plants iit will kill the algae. add slowly and see how much is needed the salt will stay a constant all youll need to do is add water
