Ooh thank you. I did them a month ago when they were repotted so I will do them again.
Or you can add a slow release Osmocote fertilizer once per season. Just take some of the small pellets and put in a piece of Paper towel and push it down into the pot so roots can suck it up!

I did an XL ball of Velda growth balls. When repotting should I do another one?

On a healthy, vigorous plant in mid-season that should definitely not be an issue. I have had plants that have dozens of pads at one time. I just yank off the ones that are showing any signs of aging - you learn to tell the ones that will be on their way out soon.

But honestly - these plants are able to grow from a tuber and a tiny growth point... that tells me they could be pruned down to zero pads and they'd still just keep on growing.
