A couple photos of my broadleaf arrowhead in bloom. It sure doesn't bloom for long!

I'll add to it with a post about large pond maintenance. Spillways need periodic attention and frequent inspections. Here in East Texas spillways can get a lot of brushy growth including fast growing trees that can ruin the utilization of your spillway and endanger the integrity of your pond.

Yesterday I cleaned one out and here's the result:

Yes, it's a monarch. Every once in a while they'll land on something too low and close to the frogs.

Fish just chillin watching the smoke arrive from the east of us. Plants trying to take over like crazy in the pond!

Palm tree almost as tall as the house now!

Frog pond being taken over AGAIN by Duckweed, I give up! I do take some out every once in awhile and throw it to the goldfish in the big pond. They gobble it up!

Taking over the little under the bird feeder stand tiny pond also!

Even some of the bird bath, critter watering spots, sheesh!

Think I need to get some ducks for the duck weed?

Your pond looks so clear and I see you have the shade up for the fish. Glad the heat and smoke here has settled down now and we can get back to real life here in the PNW

If you could throw in a few small tilapia, they would clean that up plus provide a satisfying meal or two as bonus.

Nope I could never eat my pond friends. Had a rooster once that got killed by our dog. Cooked it up and thought we could eat it but nope hubby, I and the two kids, just stared at it and then went and dug a grave
