depends; some like their vegetables cooked, others, not so much. Don't feed and see if you get damage. All plants are good for your pond, though.

I didn't. I did put one floating cabage plant which became many more.

One little section of this took over a 10x10 pond in less than 2 weeks. Good news it is easy to scoop out .
