I'm getting ready to order my liner for my bog filter and my brain is already frazzled. The prices vary so much. For instance, I can get a PVC liner for next to nothing and the Firestone 1mm buytl liners are cheaper than the Greenseal 0.75mm, so I'm confused. Can I get away with ordering a cheaper liner for the bog filter or is it better going for a better quality liner all round?

You need a nice thick liner, going cheap will cost in the long run. PVC liners tend to be fragile.

YES
EPDM is what most use, some buy firestone roof liner. EPDM 45

Absolutely do not use a PVC liner!
I can't vouch for it yet and I'm usually an advocate of EPDM, but I just ordered an HDRPE liner for my bog. It's lighter and supposedly an underlayment is not needed. The downside is that it's much stuffer to work with. I'll soon see. Prices were good at American Talapia website and free shipping.

I used a cheap pvc liner for my bog. It had been used in my previous pond for a year, and since I already had it, I decided to make it work.
Year #7 for my bog now and still no issues, but I used it with full expectations of having to replace it after a few years and definitely would not recommend it. EPDM is the way to go.

I used both EPDM and HDRPE. I like HDRPE better it is stiffer but the corners were so much easier to fold than EPDM. And it so tough scissors had a hard time cutting it. And its lighter and cheaper.

Great! Thanks for the input. That should help the OP and anyone else researching liners.
Yeah, EPDM is a little difficult when folding the corners. It doesn't want to stay since it's so flexible and rubber like.

Forgot to add need a really warm day to lay out a HDRPE liner before install. Makes it A LOT easier to install!

Not sure but can you get rubber roofing there .We can get it dirt cheap here .I bought a piece to extend the lily pond just a week ago at builders discount center here and got a piece 10 x15 for 20 dollars and they had a free give away of a hammer .I needed a new hammer and ended up buying some wood and insulated sheets

I have found a piece of EPDM line 8 x 6 m for £86.00 on Wish but it didn't state the thickness or the manufacturer. Anybody have experience of buying through Wish?
