kind of like the old adage: if it sounds too good to be true. . . .
the gist of what everyone seems to be saying is you might save a bit and enjoy the "convenience" of a package, but you'll most likely end up paying big time in frustration, hassle and even cost.
me thinks it's better to decide exactly what you want. size, design, depth, waterfall or no, fish or no, and from there folks here can give you many really good choices on how to proceed.
sadly, it's not an inexpensive hobby. i mean it's not hugely expensive either. But expect to settle in at the middle or higher cost in range of products that are out there. and, ask too if you're unsure. last year i bought a pump that was a complete dud and when I talked about it on the forum here many folks chimed right in---they could have told me not to buy that one.
