A few of the goldfish

Today the goldfish were active when I got home from work. Did not see the Koi today. Unfortunately I did find a dead frog. Super windy here too.

We seem to have one dead frog every spring. It's like a pond rule or something.

My ponds were hard on critters this winter, freezing solid, all the small ones (fishless unless an stray egg floated in). So far 4 dead tadpoles, one tiny frog one medium size, Ponds are still melting so not sure what will show up when they are finally all water.

I had a small peeper sized frog dead in the goldfish pond, too. My goldfish have been very active anytime the pond ice thawed, but the koi have not come to the surface until this past weekend, with temps 3 days in a row above 60 (and one of those days above 70!). Not sure why goldfish are more active sooner than koi, though.

Sorry about your frog. The frogs are the favorite part of the pond for my wife. It warmed up here for about a day and I got to see some of my fish about 10 days ago. The ones I saw all looked okay. I'm looking forward to winter being over!
