Our pond is about Four feet wide X Three feet deep X Fifteen feet long. The local Heron cleared it of Goldfish last year, Pond weed went berserk as did the Lilies so I emptied the whole content and now I would like to start again. I intended to do some more work so did not fill it but the torrential rain we had filled it for me and believing, rightly or wrongly, that natural rain was better than clinically adjusted tap, I left it at that, I hope I’m right.
I would like to put some Goldfish in when I work out where to get them and what deterrent I need for the Heron. I would also like to know what sort of plants I should introduce and whether they are available on the Internet or would I be better off looking locally in the Abingdon area. I do not intend to use a filtration system if it’s not required.
