Hello,
My pond is about 1000 gallons and 2feet deep. I'm leaving my pump run all winter. All of the ice has melted and my water is 45+/- degrees. Is this warm up bad for the fish? The water was 35ish 10 days ago.

Another question: I noticed 4 babies roughly 1" long in October, Do you think they will survive the winter?
Thanks,
Mike

Welcome to the forum.
The temp rise is no big deal. They should survive if they stored up a little fat before the cold hit.

My pond has one solid layer of ice, but currently only two (maybe two) fish. goldies saw them once all summer.

The fish can be pretty tough. You most likely will be ok.

The up and down water temp out side happens slow enough the fish aren't bothered .
My koi have been on top with the last few warm days we just had.

Thanks for the replies and the welcomes.
This is good to know. I was kind of worried when I saw the warmer water temps and the fish moving around more. I have A LOT to learn.
