You can also bag a tuber in a ziploc bag with water and enough air to float it in a container or pond. When it sends out roots it is ready to plant.

OK, little bugger gave me a fright the other day when I went to check on it and it was gone -- not in the little container I had it in. There were several tadpoles in there, so I thought the worse.....

Found it, free-floating again in the tub. Managed to find a rock that was just right, and pinned it down.

Today, it's looking good. Looks like it's actually starting to grow.
