Anybody able to Identify this Beetle ?

I have lived here in Southern Illinois, nearly my entire life, and have never seen a beetle around here this size.
I found it in my homemade skimmer that I have in my pond.
can anyone identify it ?

I believe that here we'd call that a "thicc boi."

I don't know the scientific name, though!

I believe, I found that it is a Grapevine Beetle (Pelidnota punctata) also known as the spotted June beetle or the spotted pelidnota .

They are the same size as June Bugs. The coloration on yours doesn't look quite right, but if it's dead, that may be the reason!

Not a June Bug, but if it was still alive, my turtles would go crazy (as long as it doesn’t taste bad).
