Hi, I live in Virginia on a farm and we have many ponds. I couldn't find a better forum so I came here. I was tasked with getting rid of this green floating algae type substance on one of the ponds that is covering the entire surface (the pond is probably 3/4 acre).
The thing is I'm not sure exactly what it is. Its green but when you actually look close or run your hands through the water it isn't any kind of filamentous algae, its these tiny green globules that are firm. They are literally covering the water. I don't have a picture right now but could get one if its not obvious to someone. I used a product today on a quarter of the pond to get rid of 'floating algae' but am unsure if it was the right thing to go with.
Any help? Thanks so much.
