Concrete block raised pond

Hi all new to the page, quick question, I'm going to start making a raised pond out of concrete block, just wondering can you build with thin edge stacked as opposed to laying flat, obviously flat is stronger due to bigger surface area but just wondering

Can you link what blocks you’re planning on using? How deep are you going? Water is incredibly heavy and pushes out with a lot of force especially at the bottom of walls. You don’t want to skimp on the structure.
