Decoy Birds & Heron Deterrent

Recently I visited a koi supplier and seen he had a huge out-door pond and above my head was fishing line in rows of about 2ft apart which covered the length & width of the pond me personaly thought this was a great idea instead of putting a net over the pond or fishing line around the edges. What do you think would you prefer this idea or have any of you got any suggestions

That works for diving birds but not herons and raccoons.

Use netting made from fencing materials in a pvc frame.

I Built a fram and netted it when Ihad my fish in Quarintine tanks. I am going to do both Above fishing line & framed netting just take the frame away when we are enjoying our garden lounging

was going to say we dont have raccoons here in the uk, untill i read the newspaper this morning and a raccoon has been sited in a garden in co duram.. so maybe were not so safe here after all !!!
