I know this has been answered before, but here goes. How can I figure how many gallons my pond is. I have a total of 3 tiers. That is where the problem lies:(

width x length x depth x 7,5 If the shelves/tiers are about a thrird of the space each, I would deduct 10% for each shelf.

for example jets say the pond is 10' wide by 12' long x 4.5' at the deepest.
10x12x4.5x7.5=4050
lets say the first shelf is 1' down subtract 405 gallons, (10% of 4050)
4050-405=3545
now lets say the next step is 3 feet down.subtract 355 gallons (10% of the rest)

3545-355=3290.
round that off to the nearest even amount, 3300 gallons. of course this isn't exact but it will give you a very close estimate.

Another way is using salt. My pond is bowl shaped, and I only have a rough estimate. I had my water tested for electric conductivity, I will now add 0.3% salt, and have it tested again in a week or so. From the difference you can calculate the pond volume fairly precisely.
