I am a 21 year old born and raised in lexington, Ky. And yes im a huge UNC fan!
I own a Swimming pool retail, and service company.

Am trying to figure out the best way to construct a koi pond.

I will say im a noob with ponds but in the constrction part i have been around it for round 5-6 years now doing pools. So i can do the plumbing and stuff like that.

Soon to be proud daddy of KOI:)

Welcome from a Gator fan.

The problem with pool stuff is a pond needs to run 24/7, it will cost you a fortune in electric cost to run a pool pump. I would not use a pressurized system. There are better DIY options for filters over sand and cartridge. I couldnt stand the maintainace with my pool with the cartridge filter. I couldn't even imange what a pita it would be on a pond.

welcome uncfan if you had not said what it meant I would have thought you were an uncle .I'm afaid i'm not a sports fan .I hope you are a successfull koi daddy also .But koi are harder to take care of and get really big also .So I hope you plan a big pond with a lot of filtering and a lot of oxygen .

Hi uncfan1573, Welcome to the forum and good luck with your pond. Always go bigger with the size of your pond. You will not be sorry.
