How far away is your 12V landscape wires/fixtures from the pond?

This issue has come up in another topic. My plan was to put around the pond edge 12v outdoor landscape lighting to snowcase the edge of the pond and waterfalls. The lights would be as close as 1.5 ft away, never any danger of entering the water.

Better to go with LED if you can afford the cost .They are safer and use less energy .Plus the bulbs are brighter and last longer .Right now is the time to get them .I just got a set at home depot 10 lights for 59 dollars .

Yes they are LED but hooked up to a 12v landscape wire and transformer, just like our submersible lights. Only difference is they not rated for underwater.

Are you talking solar LED? I hate them as they not bright enough.

no not solar I hate them too but the led's don't use that much power as long as the transformer is not near water .I put pipe clamps on my bridge and stuck the ground stake down into the pipe clamp and it sits nice and snug

I have several of my 12v lights at water level or just above it, the wire actually goes through my creek and I have never had any problems.

Yes and the wire I bought is rated for underwater.

I have 12V landscape lights in my bog. Yes, they are in the bog. I have the wire ran along the upper edge of the bog and used a staple gun to staple zip ties that are around the wire. All the connections are out of the water. Works great.

After all they are outside lights. So touching outdoor rated 12v lights in a rain storm will kill??... I think not!

So much misinformation on the net.

I have the same lights now, but they are warm white. I want to match my waterfall with cool white or white.
