Here is the nest from Costa Rica
I was just very lucky to spot it. This nest was right on the edge of the walkway at the lodge we stayed at. I just happened to notice the hummingbird flying and was curious to what species it was. To my surprise she was flying right around the nest. This plant is only 3ft off the ground. if the chicks head did not move I may not even noticed it. Well hidden it was. I never would of thought a nest being that low to the ground.Beautiful ! How did you find the hummingbird nest?
In the winter in Phoenix, AZ, not here in Maryland.Hummingbirds in the winter? I don't think I've ever seen one up here then, but I see them in the summer. Fantastic birds.
Yeah critter life is different here, vs AZOh, OK...I was thinking Maryland....
