Each of the following has caused us grief, misery, destruction, time and money.

1. Never plant trumpet vine despite its beauty. After you have cut out the plants and poisoned the roots trumpet vine zombies reappear and go on the attack. They attack everything even your pond.

2. If your home or a portion of is wood insure all siding, windows and trim are sealed with quality chalk. ANY opening is an invitation for wild honey bees to construct a seasonal hive. While a few bees may seem harmless over time there will be thousands upon thousands. We all know the wild bee populalation is dwindling. If you want to help migrating seasonal bees have a beekeeper work with you to establish bee boxes that can be managed by a bee keeper generally at no cost to you. Bees love ponds! Bees can also be very destructive to your home.

3. Never purposely or by whim allow any type of vines to grow on your home. While these vines may look beautiful behind the scenes damage and destruction is taking place.

4. Coating your driveway with a add on finish should be undertaken with great care. Some finishes fade or become worn or require periodic re-sealing. Never, ever use any H&C concrete stains or such. Concrete staining is best left to the professionals.

5. Men, if your wife ever tells you a project "you are certain" will look great is a bad idea listen to her. Years after your project goes sour and you are still trying to make it right I guarantee you will hear a little voice in your head saying "I told you not to do it!"

6. If there's any possibility that a project will be more than you can handle, whether in complexity, size or time commitment, HIRE A PROFESSIONAL.
