finally got something done on my pond.....4 days ago (tuesday) i had virtually 0 visability, just greenish brown water, just as bad as the earlier pic if not worse.(more brownish than green tho) ...3 days of running and cleaning just my prefilters. and then yesterday i put the media in my filter too . my filtration is doing its job...and not to bad! especially with the spawning going on... fish are all camped out under the hyacinths, out of the sun. probably relaxing after the spawn.
j.w ...i will get the lillies done in the next few days! i hope!

hey...i just brought the fish out wednesday. i will get to potting lillies very soon...but my fish started spawning and i wasnt ready again. two years in a row now they spawned the very next morning after going outside ...so i put the other things on the back burner. i hate when i put things off and get caught unprepared, and find myself behind. the fish were left to strickly feed off the pond until this morning. heck, i just put the media in my filter yesterday.i left it in the basement filter with the pond water still circulating thru it to keep the bacrteria alive.

Ahhhhhhhh, stuff can wait koiguy. Fish and babies need to get get cared for so they have a good chance to survive. Lilies are hardy and will do fine patiently waiting. I still am waiting for my first bloom here. They like sunshine and we don't have much this year yet at all!

they all went to new homes...quite quickly! final count was 62 including the larger 2 year old with the curvature of the spine... it was almost unoticable this spring. so he or she must be outgrowing the condition.

Did you take any pics of them just before they went to their new homes. I was wanting to see if I could spot that one baby I really liked as they were growing up. I ended with one that was somewhat similar as a baby this year.
