I ordered my 2900, and am planning my plumbing parts list:

the largest connector is 1.5" out of the pump. should i keep the flex hose at 1.5 or 2? i'm connecting it to the plastic barrel via a bulkhead. before I reach the barrel, i plan on putting a gate valve, a Tee ( connected to another gate valve) and a check valve.

The top of the barrel will gravity feed into a 2" pvc into a skippy filter from the top rather than a bulkead.
let me know if I'm missing anything.

Why do you think you need the check valve ?
By Running the pump water into the top of the filer as long as its not a air tight connection at the top it will never siphon back
If your not going to far the 1 1/2" line would be fine .
I would go from the pump to the tee then the 2 gate valves

the 2900 will feed the 55 gallon barrel which will have a skippy setup. then there will be a bulkhead on the upper side which will gravity feed via 2" pvc over the top of the 150 gallon rubbermaid into another skippy. the 150 will have 4 bags of bio media. Do you think I dont need the skippy setup on the 150?
