My Aquascape Aquasurge 3000 pump is dying. I'd like to replace it with a more efficient pump, if possible.
This Aquascape pump uses 165watts for 2500gph at 7' head (15.2 gph per watt).
Most of the pumps that I see out there are much less than 15gph/watt. Maybe the Aquascape pump is as good as it gets?
Here in CA, the cost for elec is $0.45/kwhr. My current pump is using ~$55/mo to run 24/7. I'd like to reduce that cost if possible.
Any suggestions?
thx!

Laguna pumps are pretty efficient to run I have found. I don't have the stats but I'm sure you can look them up.
