I would cut the yellowing, brown edged older leaves off. Cut the stem above water. I have read cutting below water the tuber might "drown" The stem is full of holes.

That will give your new leaves more light and nutrients.

The new growth looks great btw

Thank you, I cut the yellow leaves. And I have started to put fertilizer.

I'm working on nicking my seeds right now.....tough job!! I'm participating in a lotus grow out. I don't have many sunny windows in our house, so will have to move them around to follow the sun!

Good luck. The plant likes sunlight very much.

Today April 12th my lotus

Just starting seeds.....so much fun. To nick my seeds I used my hubby grinder and nicked the dimple. These are my pics on June 24 after the nick and first emersion in water. I got my seeds from Michales in the dried flower department so I have no idea what color I am going to get. I have a ton more seeds but went with two of each seed pod. I got three pods for less then $7.00 These were started June 23 (I wrote the wrong date on the outside of the cups

Well tonight I was trying to move a cup C seed around for a better pic and the sprout broke off! One is left doing great. It may make a leaf at the top by morning. It has been 11 hours since my morning pictures. 5:40 pm I am fascinated by the growth of these seeds to sprouts!
Note to self: Leave well enough alone! ( I started another "C" seed in another cup C2)
