Another huge Nessie! Geez #6 how many more? I have the bigger trap set for it, too fat for the minnow trap. Grabbed off play back on the cam. Those lily leaves are around 10 inches wide.

@addy1 Catch that big boy/girl and get it gone! There could be a lot of them. Can't have them around as they will just keep multiplying and then no more fish.

You have a good eye @addy1 , I needed your arrow to find it. What is the larger trap like?
It is the same size as a minnow trap, but the opening instead of about a inch is about 3 inches. The body of our new nessie would never fit through the smaller opening. We are guessing it is 3ish feet long. Over all the trap is about 2 feet long.

If I had some in my pond I'd be stressed out trying to find a way to get rid of them. Hope the traps help. They are big fish eaters.

I am trying, so far this fatty has ignored the trap, going to put one in the 1000 gallon pond and one in the big pond. Need to modify the minnow trap to make the opening a bit bigger so it can make it in.

Good lord. I'm not afraid of snakes... just afraid of being startled by one! And a snake that size would DEFINITELY be startling!

I caught the others with chicken and pork and a egg. It has been cool since I put the trap in . We have not even seen it.
Take some fresh fish and bait the trap
Will try that.

We have a net and a snake grabber. This one is real skittish, gone before I can get near it. Only see on the cam.

Our neighbor ( the one who is a marine and afraid of snakes ) told us the other day he was sitting on his deck taking a business call when the big black snack that's been around his wood pile, fell from his roof. He said it was really big and sounded like a heavy tree branch had fallen. He'd noted there were some bird nests around his gutters and figures the snack had gone up for the eggs.

I don't like the idea of snakes falling from the sky or from any upward areas! Have to stay here and live where it is safe, that's that! o_O
