if you put it on the floor of the tank you will have to grind out the structural honey combinng off the bottom of tank... mine is in the center , on the wall as close to bottom ass possible...https://www.gardenpondforum.com/my-70-gallon-skippy-filter-t3083.html...this may help your build but the flush valve is the only thing i didnt post in the thread..but its the same as in https://www.gardenpondforum.com/koiguys-55-gallon-bio-filter-skippy-style-t4339.html... the shower drains are sturdier than bulk heads.

my pond is in direct sunlight too, no uv just pumps and a tote from walmart and buffer pads from Lowes and lava rocks it is 5 years old a little over 3 ft deep 12 ft by 8 ft fish are happy and healthy pumps where from harbor freight and cost 24 dollars and 1268 gph I have 2 as I learned to never rely on just 1 pump so if something happens you don't have to worry .In the summer I use 3 pumps one for the spitters and rock and fountain and I use an oxygen pump I bought from petco for 27 dollars

1 is a winter pic taken a couple of days ago and the other is from this past summer painted bridge brown as no one liked it white .I dug this out myself with a shovel and built the sides up with retaining wall block .Cannot grow anything to much around it as it is not to far from the septic tank .It is built below my front porch so I can enjoy it from there also
