Funny, that's a floating OR bottom??? How does that work. Must have to weigh it down to keep it on bottom, I assume? Yes, that is a fantastic price for sure. I have paid more than that for my tank heaters locally, and come to think of it, I only have one that is working properly for this winter, need at least 2 more, one for the pond, and one for a spare.
And, speaking of that, if I get a generator to run my ponds if necessary, guess I'd better get one that is easy to move, as I'll need to keep the horse water trough melted as well. Can chop ice and pull out chunks, too, so that would work for a couple of days, depending on the temps.

It has a ring of foam in it for floating. Take that out and it sinks. I'm still trying to determine at what exact temp it comes on and shuts off. ANd what temp the bottom is. I don't want the thing running 24/7 because the bottom temp doesn't get high enough to shut it off. I'm told 6C or 42F it comes on. Then I read about a guy that contacted the manufacturer and they said comes on at 35F and off at 45F, this can't be correct.
