I'm throwing up my plans for my sisters pond please advise on your thoughts.
surface skimmer and B/D both plumbed into one 2" pipe, gravity feed to 30 gallon barrel
for settling then submersible pump to 55 gallon up flow bio filter.
30 gallon drum to be buried in ground with water level even with pond.
55 gallon drum to be partially buried in ground, return to pond by water fall.
from reading i will be pushing the limits of the 2" pipe, but i can chock
the flow down on the pump. here is the parts list.

Welcome!

they like you to post a thread in the introductions first lol, but welcome!

I would have your bottom drain and skimmer on two different lines so you can regulate the flow to one or the other with ball valves before they get to the pump. Then you could increase flow to the bottom drain to help clean up the bottom. Or if you have a lot of leaves dropping you could increase flow to skimmer.
