I used ribbon grass and strawberries and cream grass and even the fountain grass worked great and added nice color too .If you just pull a piece off a plant and that piece has roots it will grow .gauranteed

Cool sissy so you can just pot it up and have the pot level w/ the water? Or maybe a floating basket or tucked in the rocks so the roots are in the water.

yep they root real easy my first one was just a piece with a couple of roots I got while at a nursery as the pot was broke I just took a pice from it since they were going to throw it away because it looked mostly dead and figured a couple of small pieces looked ok .Try lemon grass also as it keeps mosquito's away and smells great oriental groceries carry the root because you can cook with it also and great in salads .

Here I have a large overgrown basket that has Wool GRASS Bull Rush (not a rush, it's a grass) and some nice blue cotton grass mixed in, here is a picture from fall... it's got a fake heron in the grass now, moved the heron from the tall sweet flag when the flag got too big to the grass clump.

Sounds like everyone has great success w/ the grasses. Something to look for when the warm weather comes back next year!

Ok so grasses are all sedges so I should be looking for any that say they are grass or sedges? They are both the same right?
