i searched the forum a little for this idea. not sure if it has merit.
seeing the effect on water clarity and health that a 100 foot watercourse that is only partially filled
with rock at this time has on my pond, if one had a little space, perhaps they could dig trenches parallel to one another
perhaps 6-8 feet long and 12-18 inches wide, 6 inches deep, line them, and fill with pea gravel to 4-5 inches
and send the pond water through that.

Reason it is helping the rocks are catching the gunk and aerating the water .Rocks in stream may need clean eventually .I use a ball valve to spread water around in my pond besides and aerator .More air means better water quality
