Yesterday I picked up a few New plants for the pond, and when I got home and Google to learn more, I realized that the Pickerel Rush could be the plant that invaded my pond years ago, forcing me to take down the stone wall to eradicate it...my first reaction was to get rid of it, but then I thought I'd ask you guys about your experience with this plant: is there a way to prevent it from taking over?
Are there different kinds? ..cause this one says "not invasive" on the tag, but I don't know if I believe it

Thank you!

Mine is planted in a planting bed about 6’x3’ in the pond and while it has filled the planting bed it hasn’t spread beyond that. It does drop seeds so occasionally it does pop up on the pond edges, but is very easy to remove.

Mine is in a deep pot but only 4" wide, can it stay in the tiny pot it came in or do I need a larger pot?

I never had a problem with Pickeral but the Lizards Tail was totally invasive! It got into the folds of my bog liner and had me tearing the bog apart looking for a leak till I found the roots.

I have lizards tail, in the big bog, so far it has not been a pita, but I purge it now and then.
My pickerel is in a 2 gallon or so old black flower pot, around 8 inches wide or so.

I remember when I had the Pickerel Rush that it had an enormous problem w/Aphids. I tried everything to stop them but alas I just got rid of them as they always looked so bad.
