What are some good pond plants that can go in a small 40 gallon pond that will come back year around ?

Welcome neighbor! I'm in St. Marys county. Watercress, water mint, chameleon plant are great but are all plants that can overtake a small pond. You could look for a miniature lily.
I have bog plants but just lilies in the ponds.

There are often times communities have pond forums on facebook or websites. Many times, people with large ponds have ample plants they can give away for free or charge minimal amounts for them.
