I haven't been around much recently. My Dad passed away Feb. 1, 2016 and I was helping with his care, prior to that. I've felt such a deep sorrow , a profound loss.

Today was 64 degrees, so I went out to my pond. I have a fine mesh net over it, as I have a cedar tree above. I brushed off some debris, then laid on my tummy lifting the net, to peer into the water.

It was quiet and still, clear, cold water, with lush green algae . I saw all five of my koi and they were moving around slowly.

I felt so happy, it gives me something to look forward to, the opening of the pond. I believe ponding will be wonderful grief therapy for me this season. It fills me with appreciation of simple beauty and a sense of purpose, caring for these living jewels.

I'm glad you've found peace within your pond, moving water does something to us.
I know my father doesn't have much time left, I'm going to go see him today.
