I have one on my deck pond. I love it. The water is pumped up from the big pond then heads back down via the stream.

The bubbler rock thing was simple to do. Drill a 1" hole down through the black granite boulder, run a 3/4" kink-less tube from top down to bottom. Pull the tube about 1" down from the top of the drilled hole and fill the area between the tube and hole with clear silicone. This way, the water doesn't fall back down the hole when it comes out of the tube. The water bubbles about an inch and a half or so out of the rock and falls back down the rock into the matrix blocks below.

Can you give me any advice on what tools you used to drill the rock? I’m considering doing one myself. I’ve got a corded Dewalt hammer drill that I think might work. Wondering if a 1” masonry bit will work and if I need to keep it wet while drilling?

It’s best to use diamond tip drill bits, keep it wet and for sure do not use a hammer drill to do it.

Do not use a hammer drill with masonry bit, because granite it isn't like cement, brick, or tile material. Purchase a few 1" diamond tip drill bits and make sure to keep water running to the drill bit/hole area. Depending upon the height of the granite rock, you will need more than one bit.
