Not trying to contradict anyone but, I have 1ea 55 gallon drum for almost 1700 gallons and the population is 8 fullgrown breeders, plus 3ea, 2 year old, 6ea. 1year old and several hundred 4month old fish. My water is fine, clear and the fish are very healthy. I have about 90% plant surface coverage through the summer

I do not disagree that more is better, just not necessary with proper managment.

ive managed to get a 45 gallon one ebay ...it was pick up only but i emailed him and said was happy to pay postage, so hes going to find out cost and send it too me .. i dont drive so would have to ask someone to pick up for me ..i reckon that should be big enough if i make sure i fill it right :biggrin:

the pond has started ...admit i needed help (couldnt even lift the sleepers )

its also going to be dug out another 1 and a half foot so will be close to 4 foot deep not as big as i first wanted but there are drains close by still it will do :)

make sure to carve your name and date in one so 1500 years from now when some archeological crew finds it they'll know who to credit.

dug out the bottom today depth is now way over 3ft 6
now i have a problem ... i wasnt expecting this to be made as soon as it was and was going to set it up in the spring ...my worry is will this be allright left as it is till spring ??
