Should I Open?

My pond is very green. It doesn’t freeze over winter as I run a deicer. It’s May in Southern Ontario and the lows are still at 1 degree and sometimes 0. Can I open now and run my filter and UVlight? Or is it too cold to run my equipment? I always open in April as it gets warm then but this year it’s just staying mad cold. I want to get everything running so that the water is clear in a few weeks.

The question is impossible to answer Yes or No without knowing your specifics. But if you have no fear of components freezing then the general answer would be yes. No harm to the pond for sure.

As for your UV light... not a fan!
