nope cheaper my coffee cans a roto zip cuts the lip off them .But found a can opener also that just cuts the lip off .Then you just cut back an inch and half to get the top shroud .I have made 5 of them so far .1 for each sister and 1 for my favorite mail lady Terry and an extra one for who ever .The can is screwed threw the back to a board

Very neat idea @sissy the bird can houses! Will the birds actually use them? Just wondering if they would get too hot in shaded area or not here.

I got some of mine at the dump .You have to put holes and silicon window screening in the sides of the cans towards the back to allow air flow .I used a metal spade bit and made a hole on each side .Keeps the can cool my sister has had birdies in hers .I saw them peeking out .The little yellow finch's seem to like them .Forgot the hummingbirds see the red one and peck at it LOL

plastic paint cans work also .Just cut them so the handles come off .I used mine from my olympic solid color stain .Thing is that I use them after I clean them for other things also .Olympic is the only one that has plastic ones that I have seen .

I know what you mean, I got a list of projects around the house too. At least I finished my "bathroom" project for now. Looks way better with fresh paint and new floor. Now Just have to clean and fix spare room, work on a new fence for our back, still want to put new liner in that one old upper pond.... We shall see how far I get before the "snow comes".

Well at least my snow does not come as soon as yours .I still have to restain the front porch which is 100 feet long and 10 feet deep and restain the porch on the shed .It has been to wet or to hot to stain .I did get my concrete leaves done and they are curing slowly in the basement .Will be ready for next year .Still have to buy a couple of boards for the decks and finish more shelves for the shed for my son .Cleaned out half of the basement .Does it ever end NO
