Last question- for today ;) In a pinch I had to buy a few small aquarium plants from Petco (or Petsmart?). I generally don't shop at those kind of stores but I was saving babies and in a hurry. Some of the plants had small water snails on them. I found homes for the baby goldfish, except one which will go back in the pond if it ever gets bigger than my fingernail. Anyhow, now I have a tank with little snails in it. I don't want to keep them in a tank in my kitchen, I don't want to kill them either. Something tells me they are probably some invasive species, and it isn't a good idea to put them outside in the pond, but that is not based on any real information. Just a nagging feeling since I know nothing about these snails. They are very small. So, do any of you pond-fish- experts have an educated opinion about little aquarium snails and how they might do in an outdoor pond? Pros? Cons? Thanks

We have the same small snails in our first and second filters ATTIE they do no harm to the pond whatsoever infact koi love to snack on snails so any that get through the filtration system are quickly eaten up.
I goes to prove your filters can maintain life along with the aquatic worms woodlice etc that live there

I have snails in my filters, but the fish eat them in the pond. Thousands in my filters. Pretty disgusting. Good luck with whatever you decide. I have so many in my tanks too.
