good argument against rocks in a pond....taking up space that could be increasing water volume....thats a good thing in anyones book!! in your case thats a 20%+ increase in water volume

Funny, that's one facet I never even thought of when it comes to rocks. That gives me another item to add to the "negative" list when I tell people not to use rocks! I love that one!

About 7000 gallons. Finally got the skimmer reset and found the leak that every new pond seems to have. I need to post recent pictures.

main pond 15250 gallons
bog 1087 gallons
stream mini ponds 400-500 gallons (3)
stream mini pond 1200 gallons

All "soft" measurements, the liner is not in yet so things change.

I will be putting rocks, gravel etc in the ponds that are part of the stream, they are part of the filtration system. The main pond is going to have gravel and river rocks. The bog will have pea gravel.

This young buck is checking out his new dining facilities, walking the stream to be.

I would like to hear how many fish or fish inches you have too. I'm guessing I'm around 30' of koi (30koi @ around 12")

Well they do say build as big as you able to, want too, and can afford. Makes it more stable.

But smaller ponds are just as enjoyable, even just a whiskey barrel pond.
