Type of pump

Hi there I’m new here and have been having trouble with pumps.
I have an above ground external filtration system.
I need a pump that can pump the water up to the filter from the pond.
I have a lot of plants and green matter in the pond to aid oxygen for the fish .
This seemed to block up the pumps that I have been using.The pump then dies on me.
Any suggestions?

the pump in the pictures.. i think what you are calling "dies" is actually her sleep mode. last 6-12 hrs at a time. then there is the feeding breaks.
