how big is this pond? how were you able to "follow" the fish? did you use the camera upside down, by using the tripod attachment?
im seriously thinking about some way to view the fish underwater, even thought about remote control :)

Hi and thanks for the comment. The pond is 28ft x 18ft and 3ft deep. I used the Canon powershot d20 with a ballhead in the camera tripod socket with custom poles made from really right stuff parts. I just lowered the camera threw different holes in the ice at the time and I was was just standing on the ice where it was thick enough, now it has only one hole due to the ice. I cannot see the screen at all doing this but I can easily see the fish in the pond and just moved the camera slowly towards them. They like the tunnels I have so I know where they are too. You could add an external monitor if you wanted too but I really did not want to go that crazy. If you have any other questions please ask.

I do not mind a few leaves nor due the froggies at the bottom. I like to give my pond vac a good workout come spring :) Seriously I take most out with the net late fall / winter and the few that remain I use the oase 3 pond vac which works awesome. I do not have any rocks in the bottom so it is fairly easy to vac out. There are many tadpoles still come late fall / early winter and did not want to suck them up. I keep good aeration so no gases build up. I was hoping shortly to get things running but winter just will not give in yet

RobAmy - thanks for the info - i looked at the D20 - didnt realize it is already a waterproof camera without the need for any cases.
How is it for non fish related photos and videos?
your pond video looks pretty good - i was impressed at the clarity and the candid shots :)

I like the camera for the ease of use and like you already stated it does not need a separate case. It also has a 5x optical zoom which I wanted and the main reason I went with it when not in the water. Is it the best well not really but this is coming from someone who uses high end canon cameras and lenses. But I think it is fun and easy to use waterproof camera. I think it has many nice features for the price. I also own a gopro and found it a bit better then the gopro. They did come out with a new model but the basics is still the same so you may be able to grab one at a great price. My biggest complaint would be low light but that will be with every camera in this price range. I do not think you will be disappointed with it.
