Hello once again forum. When I installed my pond I added in a water lily about a month later. It came up very well with a nice mixture of pure green and red and green variegated leaves. Than yesterday it bloomed. A nice beautiful White flower. But it seemed only half "open". Thinking the next day it will fully open up I left it. Then in the evening to my amazement it begun to close back, and by the time it was night fall it was all the way shut. Is this normal as I have no idea how water lilly function.
Thank you.

Maybe cuz it's the first bloom and not quite warm or sunny enough yet?

It's normal. Occasionally one of mine would only half-open the first day. Then they would generally all close around 4pm, sometimes earlier sometimes later, and they usually opened for 3-4 days before dying.

I find mine opens more during hotter days too... also they are heavy feeders, so you should stick a fertilizer pellet in them monthly (or one of those annual feeding sticks - although I'm skeptical how well they actually work)
