When to put Pond Breather in?

I know the answer is probably when it starts and stays snowing and ices. Will it hurt to put it in a few weeks. Live in Zone 5.

Hi Marie. Some people may not turn on the pond breather until there is ice forming, but I am turning mine on when I pull the pump so that the pond breather will continue to circulate the water.

I have mine is place, in the pond, but unplugged. I didn't want to fiddle with it when the weather turns cold....so now I'll just have to plug it in

Pond breathers can be used at any time during the year.
There's no harm in starting them early.

Mine just arrived by Fed Ex, today. I will probably put it in, when I turn the aerator off.

I put it in when I shut things down but plug it in when it starts to get really cold.
