Just wondering who uses some sort of solids settler to remove heavy solids from their setups. I’m working on a cheap way to make a large one with a cone shaped bottom and I’d like to see some designs of yours regardless how simple your set up is. I’m a big fan of using settlers as a pre filter because of its ease to clean unlike filter media. So...let’s talk settlers! Of all designs. Not just cone shaped bottom ones

if you are leaning toward a koi pond little to no plants then a fine pre filter will work. if your leaning toward a bog and lots of plants frogs fish etc then the pre filter should be more like a pool pump strainer. my two cents
