Hi all. I've reviewed previous threads on winterizing tropical lilies and gotten good info. A lot of advice recommends letting pots freeze over and then insulating to prevent complete freezing. I am in zone 4 and the pond freezes over at least a foot deep, but there is a 3 ft deep section that doesn't freeze solid. I over winter my gold fish in the pond so I know that there is a section that stays unfrozen. Do you think it's possible to keep the tropical lilies in the section that doesn't freeze? It seems similar to the advice of over wintering them in the garage. I'm really hoping yo save some of them

I am 6b, I left some tropical lilies in the pond one year, we did not freeze, the water did get cold, the tropical lilies all turned to mush and died. If I recall right the tuber can not handle the cold temperature of the water.
